Fashion to make presence felt at India-Africa Forum Summit III in New Delhi

While External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has been busy hosting bilateral meetings with African counterparts, a fashionable path has just been paved to improve ties between the two regions. The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has been provided the opportunity by The Ministry of External Affairs to present a fashion show titled, ‘Threads of Banaras’, as part of the First Ladies’ program during the ongoing India-Africa Forum Summit III, on October 29.

The show will pay homage to Banarasi weaves, in an attempt to revive the lost splendor of Varanasi through magnificent crafts and modern silhouettes. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, said, “We are excited to announce the collaboration with The Ministry of External Affairs, as this is an opportunity to exhibit the heritage of Banarasi weaves and showcase it at a prestigious event.
